As a teenager today, and a Christian, the world is going to be against me. That is something I have had to learn over the past few years. I have had to stop myself and realize that the world is my enemy. Additionally as a Christian the world is automatically my enemy. I don't care who you are, if you are a Christian, Christ tells us in John 15:18 (and other places); that we are not of this world.

When we talk about the world as our enemy, we talk about the world as a flesh verses to world spiritually. As Christians we fight a spiritual battle, along with being constantly tempted by the flesh. This world is not our home, for our heavenly home is with our heavenly father, because the prince of this world is the devil.

Romans 12:2 tells us to renew our minds. To be in the world, not of it. Philippians 4:13 the bible tells us that we can do all things through Christ (hints it says not through the world).

Romans 8: 1-2 tells us that there is a difference between those who walk in flesh and those who walk in the Spirit. This is very important to think about. I cannot tell you how much it saddens me to see so many young Christians seek a broader path just because they want to do certain things God wouldn't see fit. This to me shows the lack of understanding a Christian might have. Or enemy is with the sinful world, because it's only through Jesus that we are able to inherit eternal life.

When we say the world is our enemy, we do not mean that the people are our enemy. That's not who we're fighting against. We are fighting against a devil who wants to take down as many people as he can, because he wants us to die spiritually. Please don't take this lightly, because it's important we don't cling to the flesh. 2 Corinthians 6:17-18 also tells us to sperate ourselves and essentially be unique than of the world.

It's important as a teenager not to be tempted to say "well everyone else is doing it" or "eh I'll just do good things for the rest of the week" we don't want to end up places ourselves in this grey area that causes us to bend and question our faith. We can't call ourselves Christians who walk in the light when we're tending to the darkness. It simply not the way it works, and we screw ourselves when Christians try to bend the bible to their own lives. That's where we see issues like bible forcing, misguiding others, and misspoken words.

For if we truly love Him we'll keep his commandments.
